Day 0 - are we there yet?

No! In an unprecedented Stuff up of monumental proportions, missed my plane last! So I'm only leaving for Munich tonight. The others, as we speak, are starting their ride (day 0) about now.

I spent the night in a dodgy hotel near Benoni hatching a back up plan. I will take a train to Vandoies in Italy and ride northwards from there, intersecting the day 1 route about 2/3 into it in time for a nice climb up to edelrauthutte, our day 1 overnight stop.

I've been in contact with Phil via SMS and apparently there are other complications too. E.g separate ticket required for bikes on trains, infrequent trains available to take bikes and bike box storage not available. So might be a long day tomorrow. Like only getting to vandoies at 5:30.

But let me not get ahead of myself. Need to get to Munich first.
